Never shall we die…..

Ok the post is a day late, but in anycase, I can now talk about it. The problem with watching shows before others is that you really can’t talk about it to anyone as it wil spil it for future viewers…Ai!

But ok, for starters. The third installment for Pirates of the Caribbean did not disappoint me. It had a good build up all the way, with good acting as usual (Keira Knightley improved from her previous annoying Elizabeth in POTC 2), Geoffrey Rush was a fantastic Barbossa, Orlando Bloom pulled it off a lot more as heroic buckeneer Will Turner, and of course Johnny Depp was the ever realistic, humorous and swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow.

On top of that Gore Verbinski had wonderful cinematography from shooting Sparrow’s nose close up shot, all the way down to the whirl pool fight. Not forgetting of course the wonderful scriptwriters, Ted Elliott & Terry Rossi.

And how could I ever forget the man who makes the scenes comes to life even more, Hans Zimmer, my all time favourite movie composer. Somebody hand the man an AMA!!

My Review (spoilers up ahead):

The third as I said did not disappoint me. It had a different flavour from the second one. Not as many laughs and gags as he previous, but had tons of sub–plots which honestly got a bit confusing at first.

And the storyline… oh my gosh. The amount of deals Jack had. Mr Sparrow had from one back up plan to another back up plan. Everything he did that look like a mistake, seemed to just work out to his advantage… or was it just “perfect business”.

Also you just have to be amazed by how Will and Elizabeth got married. On a ship crawling with cuttlefish-men, fighting for their lives and screaming for Barbossa to marry them. LOL. And i shall never forget how Barbossa went “I Captain Barbossa now pronounce you…’ while at the same time swashing his sword from left to right frivolously. Hilarious!

The part of the story, that seems to just stings to me though was how Will and Elizabeth turned out. Will in the end did manage to save his father, but in the process replaced Davy Jones as captain of the Flying Dutchman. Meaning he became the servant that takes the souls the other world. So Will is to remain at sea and only return to land for one day every 10 years. Ai! Yeah they are together but then again they aren’t too. He’s now an immortal and she just waits for him on an island for years. Sheesh.

Also I’m glad that at least more asians made it into the film. There is hope! Chow Yun Fatt made a funny pirate thought. Hehehe!

A scene whih I think is a funny stand off was the scene where you hear an electric guitar in the background along with these fine three compadres. Where they will come face to face with Will, Buckett and Davy - who stands in a bucket of water. lol!

But however there was one thing that I wish could have been better. Which was Callypso’s appearance. After all the hype and rumours on her character, I feel that it was a bit too abrupt. It ent from her being Tia Dalma to Giant Titan to exorcist sounding to bunch of crabs. Umm… ok…?? That said Naomi Harris still played her part well.Despite all the make up you can still tell that she is hot, even with the terribly black voodoo teeth.

I’m so glad that a fourth one is coming out. Make it alright please make it good. Well as long as the script remains good and Jack Sparrow the man who makes it all worth while is in it. Yo Ho Ho!

Below are some absolutely fantastic shots of the posters.
