Yeah it was my birthday yesterday, but I didn’t get the time to put up a post. So here it is on what happened on the blessed day i was born. It was thoroughly boring.. hahhaa… I spent most of the time travelling back from Penang and was stuck on the road for a good 4 hours plus. On top of that it was raining, so Giden and I managed to see glorious mist forming amongst the trees and hills. It was really nice.
You can see that it is getting darker on the road. Finally when we made it back to KL from Penang. It was round 7.45pm. Along the way Giden insisted on taking me for dinner. So…. okk… dinner it is and where abouts?
Jogoya at the Starhill Gallery, which was the same place as last year. The food and more so the ambiance is really impressive. The spread is so huge, you really don’t know what to choose. So we made a booking at 8.30pm and arrived just in time. And here is just roughly what it looked like.
As you enter Jogoya there is this beautifully done up pond with their logo in it.
The tables at Jogoya, this was the one opposite us.
Fork and spoons and the jogoya wipe ones.
You use these clips when you want to order certain dishes. Drop it in the bowls at the dish areas and the cooks will bring the dish which is a portion big enough to give you a taste, at your table.
Also if you like eating noodles or having a steamboat meal, you can use this little tiny gas device to keep your food hot warm… or cooked. I didn’t try it though.
Ahhh the plate we always look forward to. The tempura.
Serving drinks? Nah get your own. This coconut was placed in a cute lil ice tree stump. But because it won’t balance properly, you place it in your glass cups. Haha.. why didn’t i think we could use those cups for our juice drinks.
Giden’s dish of the night. Usually oysters come raw and tastes a bit nasty if you don’t know how to acquire the taste for it. Here we have an oyster that that is already cooked and with a fantastic sauce which tastes like carbonara. We had i think three helpings of these. Two at a time of course.
Then i went to get California Rolls… yummm..but honestly it wasn’t that great. Wakka the Japanese Restaurant in Penang has a much better Roll, because the guy who makes them is seriously pro, and he makes them customized too. Less rice and a lot more ingredient.
This was a ridiculous sushi. It’s called crystal sushi. You see that clear thing at the side, they actually use the clinging wrap, because they made the sushi with muachi dough. Not a nice tasting thing. So don’t try it.
I finally tucked into desert. This was Blueberry Layered Cheesecake. Nice!
OK, now please take a close look at these. The brown one on the side is peanut and coffee muachi and the right is Strawberry muachi. The Strawberry muachi was not great, was too sweet and took a while for me to cut as you shall see with the peanut one. The top is a mango cake, which was REALLY NICE!!!!Do take that.
Stage 2 of eating the muachi.
It is completely killed! But at least it tasted good.
Giden took an interest in the lights, when he tried to change a subject and commented that it looked like our juice cups.
umm….. right….
Where we sat, at least from my view.
Me and Honey, we were trying to get the pond at the entrance at the back.
Chocolate Banana cake from Secret Recipe, I’ve had this cake easily 5 times now. Due to birthdays at the office. Hahaha
Me and my siblings with the cake, which my sister was waiting to eat the whole day…piggyy!!
We smiled to the point our eyes are nothing but slits.
If you’d notice my mouth is all crooked. I was trying to blow one candle at a time.
So that was my birthday hahahhaa.
