I am not one to get political and I don’t really intend to. But what I have been reading in the papers of late is quite appalling and even embarrassing! What am I talking about? First there was the Bersih Protest that went on the 10th of Nov. I wasn’t around that weekend to see the Yellow Walk. But heard that some people I knew were there. I was also concerned that they might have been arrested or something, Thank God though nothing like that happened. The walk was huge and reminds me of something like this that happened in Singapore which was documented as an Independent Film. The Bersih Protest was to demand electoral reformation.

“Bersih is calling on the head of state to ensure that national elections, expected early next year, are fair. It is demanding the removal of phantom voters from electoral rolls, the use of indelible ink to prevent illegal and multiple voting, the abolition of postal voting which is abused by the ruling parties and equal access to the state-owned media for all political parties.” -  World Socialist

Coming from Kenny’s blog, he had put up a post of Malaysian Information Ministers having an interview with an Al-Jazeera reporter. The whole interview was a real joke, first with the minister stating that the protest was allowed by the police without violence, we ‘are’ a democratic country, then suddenly the protest is illegal…. btw his Ingrreiisshh is terrible!!!! You can see the interview with a transcript there.

And then just not too long ago, we had the Broom Award incident. My gowssh!! Even for a joke it is bad.. and by a minister at that? What are you people thinking..? Then from broom it became a sacking threat to the employees and then finally the dude said the broom award shall remain. This is to really tell them to buck up… and what was this for? Because they miscalculated or didn’t collect some financial taxes… What the heck????

I shall hang this broom proudly on my wall… and cherish it forever!!

Yes… I’m really “proud of all this”!
