Digsby
Just Me, Webstuff May 7th, 2008I was having a chat with Mister FoxTwo the other day and we were yacking away on Facebook. Ever since facebook came out with their latest feature the chat bar, it has been one fun way of talking with people instantly.
Of late I decided to put up with Gtalk and not so much with MSN because it takes up a lot of resources on my comp. Which is another reason why I don’t have it popping up the first thing when I start my comp anymore. So anyways I was chatting away with Foxtwo and this was on facebook. While I do like it, but it’s not entirely easy to chat with someone through it cause of the small window. Imagine it like you are typing away on your phone but on the computer.
So I decided to try this little baby out, called Digsby.
Give me a try out.
So what can Digsby do? Prior to this, the features were having MSN, Gtalk, IM, AOL,Yahoo, ICQ and Jabber. All the popular IM chats, and the latest in their entry is the facebook chat feature. This is what the preference page looks like. Click on it to see a bigger picture.
The real thing in action on my desktop. You can bundle all the services together and also view your emails at the same time. However the notifications are quite annoying, but that’s alright you can always turn them off at the preference panel.
Ooooohhh you can automatically reply and view your twitter account. So cool.
Give it a go, if you just want an alternative. But bear in mind that it can be a tad heavy and will be worse as it won’t connect properly with bad connections… like mine.. ugh! But overall a useful handy program.
