Happy Birthday Nessa!

Birthdays, Family

May 14th was my adorably tom boyish yet cute little sister, Nessa’s Birthday. We didn’t cut the cake with her till I came back from rehearsals which was close to 11pm that night. The late hour though didn’t stop me or us from going mad with the camera. I think there is a very fine reason why we should not take Livita in the evening.

Here’s the Birthday Cake.

Here’s the Birthday girl on the left with her over enthusiastic sister.

Here’s the psycho.
Yes don’t I just look “ravishing” according to my dear buddy boy Ari.

Here are the three siblings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NESS!

Trip And You’ll Remember

Family, Humour, Just Me

My mom is one funny woman. Am at the office right now and she wanted me to take something back for her home. It’s this Styrofoam box of some sort.

And this is what she said when i looked at her.

To just prove her point that I need to take it back she placed it next to my bag.

“I’m going to place it here. You’ll trip and that way you won’t forget,” she said so non-chalantly and then walked back to her office.

HUH?????

So this is how my mom would like me to remember things… thanks mom.

Appreciating Your Siblings

Family, Love, Personal

It’s very interesting when you think about it. How when we were much much younger - lil kuchis - we wanted to have brothers or sisters. Well that was my case anyway. Then when I finally got my first sibling, Nessa my goshhh, I fought with her like cats and dogs. I didn’t even want another sibling (not my call anyway). Then came my younger brother, Lincoln. Aiiiii ya ya.

It’s terribly funny, because there we have a young kid who wants someone to look up to and we have an older sibling that wants to show who’s boss. The younger one, would try to act, behave and do everything like the older sibling. The older sibling would also not like that because they would be thinking “Man, there’s already one of me, I don’t need another me in the house!! So quit it with the following!!!”

Or how bout this one. Right after school, the older sibling insists on sitting in the front seat and the younger sibling has to sit at the back seat. Then they’ll both be fighting for the front seat later on. lol

The younger one will always try to get the attention of the older sibling, and just even to talk about silly things. The older sibling will tell the younger one to bug off because the younger one is invading the older siblings space… all that sort of nonsense.

Pity the younger one..lol :hehe:

But as the siblings get older. You find that the bond between them gets stronger. The older one will stop all the bickering and the younger one gets more mature. They start thinking for themselves and figure out their own identity, which probably works better for them. Although they can still grow up a lot more, but hey as the elder sister, you’re suppose to guide them anyway or just to be there for them. Sibling ties are probably one of the best in the world and while we fight with them when we’re young. You’ll learn to love and appreciate them as time moves on.

It’s great having siblings ^_^ and I’m blessed to have mine.

Us playing the mafia face..

Siblings, and now just smiling

And now just smiling ^_^

I don’t know why it’s only during weddings we take sibling shots. :hehe: We are one big happy ^_^

Acmamall Is On

Family

Lol… talk about a back to back advertorial. But I will write something on Acmamall because it is related quite close to me.

I was pleasantly surprised to see, this particular ad showing up on blogs and on mine as well.

Acmall

Acmall 2

See me mommy, is the busy head of the Acmamall body here -Yes, technically she’s the Malaysian CEO for Acmamall - in this online mall. Yes it’s a mall for the SEA region. It’s about nearly 5 plus years already since Acmamall had been born. I can still remember when mom was still at the beginning stages of it…It was tough and a lot of people wondered why even bother going into an e-commerce if not people were willing to buy stuff online here.

To some extent i can sort of agree, why get something online if you can get it directly straight off the shelf. But then again somethings bought online tend to be cheaper than those on the shelf..some that is not all.

Acmamall which used to be Acmabooks, had started off with just selling books as it’s primary base of products. It was only recently that they started to venture into becoming a mall. Now they have stuff that ranges from  books, flowers, chocs… yada yada yada. And it’s still growing :) But I will say that they are always looking for more new products that have the possibility of being a selling point online.

And I can definitely reassure you that all the items that are packaged and shipped off to any customer is the best condition possible. I say that because, i’ve seen how my neat-freak mother packs her stuff. My gosh it is so tightly wrapped it’s almost a chore to open it. But that just means it won’t get damaged in the mail when it’s flung to and fro :)

Imagine with a company on a tight budget, it was pretty exciting to see our ad on TV. My gosh you won’t believe the PR lady for Acmamall had bargained… she is one tough cookie. I haven’t seen her but i bet she looks like this.

Mean PR

 lol. :P

I Miss Home :(

Family, Holiday

As some of you might know. I’m away for Christmas this year… again. I usually hold Christmas open house at my place in KL. But for the past two years - this year included - I decided to spend time with my boyfriend’s family. Now that is all fine by me, it was entirely my decision, not him asking me and all to go with him back to Penang.

That said though, I don’t know why but I really miss home this time. I miss spending time with my family, I miss spending my Christmas with my superbly generous dad, my crazy mom, my overly noisy siblings, my repeating-every-question-again grandma, my aunt and most of all my doggies. :(

I remember the first time year we had Benji - my Australian Silky Terrier, it was so cute, we bought the little fella a gift for Christmas. Wrapped it up and al, and he was so excited - as much as a dog can be, anyway - to get his gift. He took it in his mouth and started ripping the wrapping paper. Needless to say, he got very protective of the present and started growling at us. Hahahaha.

But just spending it here. I miss the stuff i used to do with family… may it be a dinner or something… I still miss their company. I mean I love it here in Penang. It’s a slower pace compared to the hustle and bustle of KL. And I love Giden’s family and their new family member, Abbey heheh. It’s great to be near him, but gosh… i just feel like being at home….

I called them up and spoke with them for a bit, so I feel better. But I think next year I’ll make it a point to spend time with them. This is the only time of the year that I really enjoy. Maybe it’s also because I saw this episode, which I keep talking about from Gossip Girl. The episode entitled Roman Holiday. I mean despite the couples in the show, wanting to spend time with one another, they did it on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, they spent it with their own families. Which was nice. Have a look.

Doens’t the video bring a tear to your eye…. I mean if anybody were to feel like home I’m feeling now… hehehe. Which would bring a little tear to me eye.

Picture taken from DCPrintsThis post is dedicated to my family. Simply for being there for me and I’m thoroughly grateful for them in all they do. Despite some short comings and petty arguments, I still love them.

So Merry Christmas to you guys at home.

Dad, Mom, Nessa, Lincoln, Grandma and Ah Kor. And yeap Evelyn too. As well as Duchess, Benji and Rex (they are my dogs, they can’t understand and neither will they ever go online, but i’m still wishing them anyway!)

Love you all.

XOXO. Hehehe

Your Little Girl,
Linora
